Senator’s law requires any proposed federal regulation be accompanied with a 100-word plain language summary, making government more transparent and accessible to everyday Arizonans

WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s Providing Accountability Through Transparency Act was signed into law. Sinema’s bipartisan law requires every new federal regulation be accompanied with a 100-word summary that is easier to understand – making the government more accessible, accountable, and transparent to everyday Arizonans.

As Chair of the Subcommittee on Government Operations and Border Management, Sinema introduced the bipartisan bill with Republican Ranking Member Senator James Lankford (Okla.).

“Our commonsense bipartisan legislation is now law – making the federal government more transparent, accountable, and responsive to everyday Arizonans,” said Sinema, Chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Government Operations.

Sinema has long championed bipartisan efforts to cut red tape for Arizonans. Once law, Sinema’s bipartisan Providing Accountability Through Transparency Act will make the government work better for Arizonans through commonsense regulatory reform.
