Senator joined bipartisan group of Senators to introduce legislation designating February 18 – 25 as ‘National FFA Week’

WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema continued her work supporting Arizona farmers, ranchers, and producers by introducing bipartisan legislation designating National Future Farmers of America Week and celebrating the next generation of farmers and agricultural leaders in Arizona and across the United States.

“Arizona farmers, ranchers, and producers feed American families and fuel our state’s economy. Designating National Future Farmers of America Week celebrates their work, service, and leadership and supports the next generation of Arizona’s agricultural leaders,” said Sinema.

The Sinema-backed legislation designates February 18 through February 25 as “National FFA Week” to recognize the important role of the National Future Farmers of America Organization in developing the next generation of globally conscious leaders through agricultural education.

Sinema recently met with the Arizona Farm Bureau, where she had conversations with Arizona farmers, ranchers, and agricultural leaders about the challenges and opportunities facing their industry – including Arizona’s water supply and future, the current border and immigration system, and labor shortages. Last year, the Arizona Farm Bureau presented Sinema with the “Friend of the Farm Bureau” award – a distinction she has now earned three times for her work supporting Arizona’s agriculture and, most recently, securing historic investments for drought resilience.
