Sinema discussed how her Infrastructure Investment and Jobs law will help improve supply chain issues impacting Arizona
SONOITA – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema hosted a roundtable with local business and community leaders to discuss how Sinema’s Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Law will improve the efficiency of cross-border trade, help address nationwide supply chain challenges, and lower prices.
“Arizona families and small businesses want to get back to normal, but are hurt from rising prices and empty store shelves. Our roundtable brought community leaders together to discuss how our bipartisan law invests in border infrastructure, improving supply chain challenges and lowering prices for Arizonans,” said Sinema, Chair of the Senate Government Operations and Border Management Subcommittee.
In the meeting, Sinema talked with local business and border stakeholders about the current supply chain challenges in Arizona, including issues related to Land Ports of Entry, and how implementation of her bipartisan infrastructure law will relieve the strain on local communities.
Sinema secured $3.85 billion in funding to modernize Land Ports of Entry in her bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs law. With nearly $600 million slated for Douglas and San Luis port project, Arizona will see direct improvements to border security, trade, and rising prices.
The largest investment in highways and bridges in America’s history, Sinema’s infrastructure law authorizes $477 billion in new funding over the next five years for surface transportation programs, including $347.5 billion for highways and $37 billion for bridges – reducing trucking delays and supply chain challenges.
