WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema, Republican Senator Tim Scott (S.C.), and a bipartisan group of Senators highlighted their support of Medicare Advantage and committed to working with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to strengthen Medicare Advantage benefits for the 26 million Americans and the roughly 600,000 Arizonans who are enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans.
“Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, Medicare Advantage has helped hundreds of thousands of Arizonans access critical health services like vaccine education, telehealth appointments, and prescription and meal delivery. Protecting and strengthening Medicare Advantage services ensures Arizona seniors will continue to have affordable access to the health care they need and deserve,” said Sinema.
“On behalf of the more than 628,000 Arizonans who entrust their care to Medicare Advantage, we extend our deepest gratitude to Senator Sinema for leading this bipartisan letter championing the health coverage that beneficiaries need and deserve. Senator Sinema listens to seniors and has a deep understanding of the health and financial security they derive from Medicare Advantage. We are grateful for her leadership in the effort to build on the promise of Medicare through a strong Medicare Advantage,” said Mary Beth Donahue, President and CEO of the Better Medicare Alliance.
In Arizona, over 40% of residents who are enrolled in Medicare are also enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan. Sinema and a bipartisan group of her Senate colleagues underscored their support of Medicare Advantage (MA) Plans to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and pledged to continue working with the administration to strengthen MA services and protect MA from cuts.
