Provider Relief Funds will help Arizona health providers make up for lost revenue due to the coronavirus pandemic
WASHINGTON – Arizona Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly announced over $115 million in Provider Relief Funds for Arizona health providers. These funds will help Arizona health providers make up for lost revenue from the first half of 2020.
“Today’s funding supports Arizona hospitals, nursing homes, and care facilities to continue operating as they fight to save Arizonans’ lives,” said Sinema.
“Arizona hospitals and providers are struggling under the weight of this pandemic and it is critical they continue to receive support like this so they can keep taking care of Arizonans,” said Kelly.
Sinema helped secure the new funding through her support of the creation of the Provider Relief Fun and her leadership of an Arizona Congressional Delegation letter urging the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to help Arizona providers who faced higher costs and lower patient volumes, leading to lost revenue issues.
In August, Sinema cosponsored the bipartisan Save Our Rural Health Providers Act, which allocates 20% of all remaining CARES Act Provider Relief Funds as well as any future funds, to rural health care providers in Arizona and across the United States to combat the coronavirus outbreak.
