WASHINGTON – Today, Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema and a bipartisan group of colleagues announced the launch of the U.S. Senate Space Force Caucus, which seeks to support the sixth branch of the U.S. military.

“Establishing the Space Force Caucus is an important first step toward finding common ground, supporting our national defense, and embarking on a new era of scientific discovery and innovation,” said Sinema.

Sinema is co-chair of the caucus with Senators Cory Gardner (R-CO), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), and Martin Heinrich (D-NM). Sinema is also ranking member of the Senate Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Space and Aviation.

As the ranking member on the Aviation and Space subcommittee, Sinema is working for greater investment in Arizona’s aerospace industry. Last year, the Senate Commerce Committee Sinema’s bipartisan National Aeronautics and Space Administration Authorization Act and provisions from her 21st Century Space Grant Modernization Act, both of which boost Arizona’s role in space education and research.
