PHOENIX – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema hosted a call with Arizona members of veteran serving organizations to discuss coronavirus relief efforts included in the CARES Act.
“We must ensure Arizona’s veterans have access to the health care and economic resources needed during the coronavirus outbreak,” said Sinema.
The U.S. Senate recently approved Sinema’s bipartisan Emergency GI Fix For Coronavirus School Closures Act—legislation introduced by Republican Senator Jerry Moran (KS) that ensures the VA continues providing GI Bill benefits, including housing allowances, to Arizona veterans enrolled in schools who have to hold online classes due to the coronavirus. Sinema has also written to the VA about steps it’s taking to protect the health of veterans and staff.
Sinema has also added a resources page to her website, www.sinema.senate.gov/corona, for Arizona veterans looking for the latest information on coronavirus.
