WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema met with Arizona AIPAC leaders to discuss her continued support of the bond between the U.S. and the State of Israel.
“Israel is America’s closest ally in a dangerous part of the world and a beacon of democracy. Our support for a secure Israel must remain unwavering,” said Sinema.
Sinema previously supported bipartisan legislation, which is now law, that includes $3.3 billion in security assistance and $500 million for cooperative U.S.-Israel missile defense programs. Additionally, Sinema is a cosponsor of bipartisan legislation that calls on the U.N. Security Council to extend the U.N. arms embargo and ballistic missile restrictions on Iran.
Sinema’s first vote as Arizona’s senior Senator was to affirm the friendship between America and Israel. The bipartisan legislation approved by the Senate provides critical security resources to Israel over the next decade, and reinforces that amid efforts to isolate Israel, America stands strong alongside its ally.
