Sinema Discusses the Need to Secure Arizona’s Border and Treat Migrants Humanely

Jul 30, 2019

WASHINGTON – Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema spoke at a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on the need to improve conditions for migrants held in Arizona, while ensuring we keep the border secure and find solutions to the crisis at the southern border.

“I remain extremely concerned about the recent allegations regarding the treatment of migrants at the Yuma Border Patrol Station. I am committed to fixing our broken immigration system, securing our southern border, and ensuring migrants are treated fairly and humanely,” said Sinema.

Sinema questioned the Acting Commissioner of CBP on what needs to be improved to ensure the border is secure and migrants are treated fairly and humanely at CBP facilities.
