WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema today at the Senate Aging Committee welcomed two young Arizonans living with diabetes and highlighted the need to reauthorize federal programs aimed at treating diabetes. Grant from Gilbert, Arizona and Rachel from Flagstaff, Arizona were at today’s hearing representing juveniles with diabetes.
“Grant and Rachel are two young Arizonans in D.C. today representing the more than 750,000 Arizonans living with diabetes. I am grateful for their advocacy and look forward to working with them to ensure Arizonans get the health care they need,” said Sinema.
Sinema sent a bipartisan letter earlier this year advocating for the reauthorization of the Special Diabetes Program and Special Diabetes Program for Indians. They both expire on September 30, 2019.
