Sinema Continues ‘Kyrsten Means Business’ Tour at Arizona Burn Center

May 20, 2019

PHOENIX – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema toured the Arizona Burn Center in Phoenix and met the center’s leadership to learn about their work caring for Arizona families.

“I’m committed to ensuring medical professionals, like those at the Arizona Burn Center, have the support and resources they need to keep providing critical care for Arizonans in need,” said Sinema.

The Arizona Burn Center, part of the Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS), is Arizona’s only nationally-verified burn center and is the second busiest burn center in the United States. The center is equipped with 45 beds and a team of board-certified doctors and nurses in emergency burn services that treat more than 5,000 children and adults every year, with a survival rate of more than 97 percent.

In 2014, the Arizona Burn Center celebrated its 50th Anniversary serving Arizona families.

Sinema started the “Kyrsten Means Business” program to listen and meet job creators, care providers, and community leaders to expand Arizona’s economic opportunities and support Arizona communities. During each visit, Sinema spends time with leadership and employees to learn about challenges and identify ways to work together.
