Senator’s Space Frontier Act and TRACED Act pass the Senate Commerce Committee
WASHINGTON – The Senate Commerce Committee today approved with bipartisan support two bills backed by Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema.
“Today’s bipartisan committee action on the Space Frontier Act is a great step toward expanding Arizona’s space industry. The advancement of the TRACED Act moves us closer to protecting Arizonans from the rising number of illegal robocalls,” said Sinema, a member of the Senate Commerce Committee.
Sinema’s bipartisan Space Frontier Act streamlines and reforms the regulatory framework for commercial space launch and Earth observation operations. This bipartisan legislation keeps Americans safe and protects our national security interests while maintaining American leadership in the global space community and ensuring that the United States remains the best place to start a space business.
The Sinema-supported TRACED Act gives regulators more time to find scammers, increases penalties for those who are caught, promotes call authentication and blocking adoption, and brings relevant federal agencies and state attorneys general together to address impediments to criminal prosecution of robocallers who intentionally flout laws.
