WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema met with the Arizona Department of Housing to discuss steps needed to ensure everyday Arizona families have access to safe, affordable housing.
“Ensuring all Arizonans’ access to safe, quality housing is personal to me. I’ll continue working to strengthen Arizona’s housing supply so Arizonans have quality places to live and thrive,” said Sinema.
According to a December 2023 report, Arizona’s homeless rate increased by a staggering 23.4% over the last three years. At the same time, the median home sale price in Arizona rose to $434,700 in September 2023, a 4.6% increase year-over-year.
Sinema and members of the Arizona Department of Housing discussed how they can work together to achieve Arizona’s housing priorities in the annual bipartisan appropriations bill.
Last week, Sinema announced two housing grants totaling $5,215,400 for the White Mountain Apache and Cocopah Indian Tribes.
