Sinema’s Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act cleared the Senate with unanimous support

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate passed Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act—bipartisan legislation that supports the development of Advanced Air Mobility Systems, creating Arizona jobs and expanding the United States’ leadership in technological development.

“Arizona leads the nation in aerospace innovation, and our bipartisan legislation creates jobs that strengthen our national security and technological development. I’m proud to see our bill pass the U.S. Senate and move one step closer to becoming law,” said Sinema, Chair of the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Aviation Safety, Operations, and Innovation.

Sinema’s Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act establishes an intergovernmental agency working group that would bring together expertise from across the federal government to report to Congress on recommendations for advancing the physical and digital security, safety, infrastructure, and maturation of the Advanced Air Mobility Systems industry.

Advanced Air Mobility Systems is an emerging sector of aviation technology that will provide new capabilities and environmentally-friendly alternatives to traditional transportation modes. Arizona aerospace manufacturers worked with Sinema and her legislation. Sinema’s Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act further enhances Arizona’s leadership as a testing ground for emerging vehicle technology.

The companion bill to Sinema’s Advanced Air Mobility Coordination and Leadership Act passed the U.S. House last fall.
