WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema helped secure over $15 million from the Department of Transportation for Pinal County to develop the Inland Port Arizona industrial park and create jobs.
“Today’s funding announcement improves local infrastructure, ensures Arizona’s role as a global trade leader, and creates jobs across Pinal County. I’ll continue partnering with local leaders to grow Arizona’s economy and expand job and businesses opportunities,” said Sinema.
In July, Sinema wrote to Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao urging the Department of Transportation to approve Pinal Count’s grant application for the development of the Inland Port Arizona and Nikola project. The Inland Port Arizona will house on of the largest manufacturing and distribution centers in Arizona. The Nikola Motor Company will be housed within Inland Port Arizona and will bring good jobs to Pinal County while ensuring Arizona remains a regional hub for trade.
