Senator’s bipartisan legislation raises awareness about the rising schemes targeting seniors in Arizona and across U.S.
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Senate unanimously passed Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s bipartisan resolution, introduced with Republican Senator Susan Collins (Maine), that raises awareness about the rising schemes targeting seniors in Arizona and across the United States.
“I’m proud to see the Senate come together and pass our bipartisan resolution raising awareness to protect Arizona seniors from predatory scams. We’ll continue working across the aisle and cracking down on illegal scams targeting Arizona seniors’ benefits and retirements, said Sinema.
Sinema’s bipartisan legislation raises awareness on reported scams that include cybersecurity attacks, government agency impersonation scams, vacation scams, veteran benefits scams, and COVID-related scams.
Sinema and Republican Senator Chuck Grassley (Iowa) re-introduced the bipartisan Improving Social Security’s Service to Victims of Identity Theft Act – legislation making it easier for identity theft victims to resolve their cases by cutting red tape and creating a single point of contact at the Social Security Administration for identity theft cases.
