Sinema Announces Service Academy Nominations for the Class of 2026

Senator nominated 55 Arizona students to four U.S. Service Academies

WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema today announced the nominations of 55 Arizona students to four U.S. Service Academies for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.
 
“It is my honor to nominate these outstanding, dedicated young Arizonans to our nation’s Service Academies. This year’s nominees and their dedication to serving our country and keeping us all safe and secure represent the best of our state,” said Sinema.
 
The Class of 2026 nominees come from seven different counties across Arizona, including Cochise, Coconino, Yuma, Yavapai, Pinal, Pima, and Maricopa County.
 
As Arizona’s senior Senator, Sinema is able to nominate exceptional Arizonans interested in attending U.S. Service Academies to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces after graduating. Their nominations are submitted to the academy of their choice, which include: U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marines Academy. Upon graduation, Service Academy graduates are commissioned as officers in active or reserve units for a minimum of commitment of 5 years.
