WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema today applauded the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s decision to award $1.75 million to the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority to increase water supply and clean drinking water for the Navajo Nation.
“The resources awarded today will help ensure that members of the Navajo Nation have the clean drinking water they need,” said Sinema.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development investment in the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority will be used for water supply, storage systems, pumping systems, and piping and control valve facilities. Over 7,000 members of Navajo Nation will benefit from the increase in resources.
Earlier this year, Sinema congratulated the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority on 50 years of serving the Navajo Nation and celebrated their new headquarters.
