WASHINGTON – The bipartisan Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act, supported by Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema, has been signed into law. The legislation provides Blue Water Vietnam veterans access to all of the benefits they have earned, including medical assistance related to Agent Orange exposure.
“Our Blue Water Navy veterans answered the call and bravely served our country. It is time these veterans finally get access to the critical benefits they’ve earned,” said Sinema, a member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
Blue Water Navy veterans served during the Vietnam War on ships off the coast of Vietnam, but were not eligible for the same Agent Orange exposure benefits as servicemembers who served on ground in Vietnam. Sinema cosponsored the legislation in the U.S. House and in the Senate.
