PHOENIX – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema congratulated Arizona Service Academy appointees for their commitment to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. Sinema also announced her office is accepting U.S. Service Academy Applications for the Class of 2025 beginning on May 1, 2020.
“Our dedicated Service Academy students make Arizona proud through their commitment to keeping America safe. I encourage all Arizona students interested in attending U.S. Service Academies to contact my office and apply,” said Sinema.
This year, 17 Arizonans nominated by Sinema accepted their appointments to U.S. Service Academies: 7 to the U.S. Air Force Academy, 5 to West Point, and 5 to the U.S. Naval Academy.
As Arizona’s senior Senator, Sinema is able to nominate talented Arizonans interested in attending U.S. Service Academies to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces after graduating. Their nominations are submitted to the academy of their choice, which include: U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marines Academy. Upon graduation, service academy graduates are commissioned as officers in active or reserve units for a minimum of commitment of 5 years.
Sinema’s office is accepting U.S. Service Academy Applications for the Class of 2025, beginning May 1, 2020. The deadline to submit applications is October 1, 2020.
