Sinema backs bipartisan resolution designating May 6th – May 12th as National Nurses week
WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema cosponsored a bipartisan resolution recognizing May 6th – May 12th as National Nurses Week to honor the critical work Arizona nurses do to care for patients and celebrate their heroism saving Arizonans’ lives on and off duty.
“Nurses in Arizona and across the country go above and beyond to serve our communities and care for our loved ones in times of need. Our bipartisan resolution is a small token of our appreciation for their heroism,” said Sinema.
Arizona is home to more than 100,000 registered nurses, more than 11,000 licensed practical nurses, more than 21,000 certified nursing assistants, more than 15,000 nurse practitioners, 126 clinical nurse specialists, more than 300 certified nurse midwives, and over 1,400 certified registered nurse anesthetists. The bipartisan resolution honors their role in keeping Arizonans healthy and safe.
During last year’s National Nurses Week, Sinema met with the Nurse-Family Partnership and Child First – a leading provider in home-based care for children and families – to discuss the services they provide and how those services have positively improved the lives of Arizona families.
