Sinema & Kelly Introduce Bill Naming Patagonia Post Office After Late Arizona Congressman Jim Kolbe

Congressman Jim Kolbe worked across the aisle to represent and deliver for Arizona for over 30 years

WASHINGTON – Arizona Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly sponsored bipartisan legislation to rename the Patagonia Post Office as the “Jim Kolbe Memorial Post Office.” The Senators’ bill honors and memorializes the late Arizona Congressman Jim Kolbe, a public servant who advocated for Arizonans for over 30 years, first in the Arizona Senate and then in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Arizonans remember Jim Kolbe as a dedicated statesman with a passion for working across the aisle to represent the state he loved so dearly. Renaming the Patagonia Post Office in his honor serves as a token of our thanks for his service to Arizona and America,” said Sinema.

Companion legislation to Sinema and Kelly’s bill was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives by Republican Arizona Congressmen Juan Ciscomani and David Schweikert, and Democratic Arizona Congressmen Raul Grijalva and Greg Stanton.

Jim Kolbe, a Patagonia native, served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1985 to 2007. He passed away in December 2022.
