Sinema, Kelly: More than $1.2 Million Awarded to Page Municipal Airport

Dec 16, 2021

Funds awarded through the American Rescue Plan that Senators Sinema and Kelly shaped and helped pass into law

WASHINGTON – Arizona Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly announced that Page Municipal Airport will receive $1,204,929 in coronavirus relief through the American Rescue Plan to support operations, personnel, cleaning, sanitation, and COVID-19 prevention.

“Today’s funds will provide necessary and critical support to strengthen operations and COVID-19 prevention at our airports, keeping Arizonans safe and healthy during their travels,” said Sinema, Chair of the Senate Aviation Safety, Operations, and Innovation Subcommittee.

“Today’s funding will ensure our airports have the necessary resources to keep airport staff, Arizonans, and visitors safe from COVID-19,” said Senator Kelly.

Earlier this year, Sinema and Kelly helped pass into law the American Rescue Plan, which made critical investments to support Arizona hospitals, small businesses, and communities economically recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

In November, Sinema, Kelly, and U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg toured Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to see first-hand the types of projects funded through Sinema’s historic, bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act—legislation that was also shaped and supported by Kelly. Arizona airports are expected to receive at least $360 million over the next five years through the bipartisan infrastructure law, in addition to today’s American Rescue Plan grant announcement.
