Sinema, Kelly: Over $7.7 Million in Housing Funds Headed to Tucson

Feb 3, 2021

WASHINGTON – Arizona Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly announced that Tucson-area organizations will receive over $7.7 million in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development federal funds from the Continuum of Care Program to support Arizonans experiencing homelessness.

“Today’s funding will help Tucsonans who are experiencing homelessness quickly find housing solutions and resources,” said Sinema.

“Especially during this pandemic, thousands of individuals and families are experiencing homelessness in Arizona, and this federal funding will give our state the tools to help them get housing and support,” said Kelly.

The Continuum of Care Program aims to end homelessness by funding efforts by nonprofits, supporting state and local governments to quickly rehouse and minimize trauma and dislocation caused to homeless individuals, families, and communities, and optimizing self-sufficiency for families and individuals experiencing homeless.
