WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema today spoke with Judge Amy Coney Barrett, the nominee to serve as Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. Sinema’s call with Judge Barrett comes as the Senate is expected to consider the nomination in the coming days.
“As I promised Arizonans, I am carefully considering whether this nominee is professionally qualified, believes in the role of an independent judiciary, and can be trusted to faithfully interpret and uphold the rule of law,” said Sinema.
Since being elected to the Senate, Sinema has consistently applied the same criteria to all judicial and executive nominees considered by the Senate.
