WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema released the following statement:
“Today’s broad bipartisan Senate vote ratifying Sweden and Finland’s membership into NATO sends a clear message to the world of America’s unyielding commitment for freedom and democracy. America and Arizona stand with Sweden, Finland, and our NATO allies – and we remain strongly united in our support of a free, democratic, and sovereign Ukraine against Russia’s unprovoked and illegal attacks.”
In May, Sinema joined a bipartisan letter supporting Sweden and Finland’s NATO membership bids and urging both the Senate and the Biden administration to support an expedient approval of these two bids.
